The people and partners who make it happen

Imagine working with a partner who’s constantly tracking emerging technologies. Who understands the value of good design. Who focuses on using design and technology effectively to achieve your business goals. Welcome to Resolve Digital.

David Jones

David fell in love with Ruby on Rails shortly after its release. He created Refinery CMS in 2004 and was the key to making it open source in 2009. Now having shared Refinery with thousands of Rails developers, it turns out they love it and it has become the most popular Rails 3 CMS around.

But it's not all Ruby work, David is a keen iOS developer too having put multiple apps into Apple's App Store. Space Cow is his latest app.

Patrick Morrow

Patrick loves design, especially interface design, which is the main reason that Refinery looks so awesome and is so easy to use. Patrick has a strong sense of what might confuse a user so his designs often look simple and clean but are ultimately friendly and usable.

If Patrick's not around he's probably at a tech meet up, connecting with the industry and sharing the Resolve experience with others.

Philip Arndt

Phil has been fully sold on the Ruby language and the community surrounding it after his background in C# and PHP.  He brings a large amount of opinion to the office and champions the use of Agile processes and encourages high software quality through the use of TDD and open source technologies.

He adores open source and is passionate about Refinery and the community surrounding it which is why he is the top contributor to the project and drives its vision forward.

Amanda Wagener

Amanda is a highly educated Ruby on Rails software engineer with strong communication skills. She has an extremely balanced view of technology probably because she has computers at home that run OS X, iOS, Linux and Windows.  Amanda has a personal goal "to travel everywhere, read every book and learn everything."

Mark Haylock

Mark is an experienced and well connected software engineer with a strong sense of professionalism. He's not just into web development though, he has a keen interest in iOS development and mobile applications. Mark is part of our Christchurch team.

Francois Harbec

Francois has been involved in web development since 1995 and has worked on some of Canada's largest websites. He fell in love with Ruby on Rails in 2007 and is on a constant quest to improve his abilities.

When he's not working Francois can usually be found cycling, running or cross-country skiing near his home in Vernon, British Columbia.

Mark Stuart

A recent graduate of the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, Mark (affectionately known in the office as Mark II) brings strong software engineering principles and enthusiasm for web based technologies to the Resolve Christchurch table.

Outside work hours you’ll find Mark spending quality time with his wife and daughter, or renovating their home in the never-ending quest to provide the perfect family environment.

Graham Wagener

Graham is a well-rounded software engineer who enjoys bringing design to life through code. He has a passion for learning which is why he has had experience with such a wide range of languages and platforms.

When he's not working you might find him practicing aikido, cooking or tabletop gaming.

Barry Harrison

Barry founded Resolve Digital in 2002. In his role as Managing Partner he keeps the team focused on meeting our clients' business needs. In his spare time he's a relentless, if quixotic, advocate for usability.

If he's not at his desk, Barry's probably walking his best friend Burt up in the hills above San Francisco Bay. "iPad, therefore I am."
