Web and UI Designer (San Francisco)

We’re looking for a designer to help us create websites and mobile apps. In this role you'll have the opportunity to contribute in a variety of design capacities: visual design, UI and interaction design, web design, and illustration. The ideal candidate has an artistic bent and understands the needs of development team and end-users.

We’re searching for a talented designer who

  • Is highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Can thoughtfully communicate with co-workers and clients
  • Is interested in working as part of a small team
  • Wants to learn about building sites with Refinery, the most popular Rails based CMS available

Requirements

  • Great looking portfolio
  • Thorough understanding of visual design principles and usability
  • Pro skills in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic understanding of HTML5/CSS
  • Able to produce wire frames and mood boards
  • A passion for typography is a plus

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (ideal but not required)

Compensation commensurate with experience and skill set. You will be an independent contractor and work on a part-time or project basis. There's the potential to transition to a full-time position if things work out and if you’re up for that.
